Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir grapes are known for their difficult to grow but if grown well, they can be made into a wine that is rich, complex and among the best in the world. It is the premier grape of the Burgundy region of France. Recently though, growers in California and Oregon have begun producing world class Pinot Noir.

Pinot Noir has a velvety and rich, almost seductive, flavor. Its typical flavors include sweet black cherries, raspberries and mint. It also has a wonderful ar moa that's been likened to herbs, coffee and even roses. Pinot Noir is almost always used in making of Champagne.

Pinot Noir wines are light to medium bodied and range in price from very cheap to expensive. This makes it an excellent wine for novices and masters alike, whether you want to cook with it or just drink it.
