Champagne And Sparkling Wines

Many Sparkling Wines are made after the style of Champagne, but only those made in the Champagne region of northern France can rightfully be called Champagne. All others should be called Sparkling Wine.
Winemaking Book
Champagne and Sparkling Wines range in flavor from dry to sweet although the sweet versions tend to be more popular. Both typically have a pale yellowish color and often have a tasty, oaky aroma.

Champagne and Sparking Wines are usually served chilled and, although not technically a dessert wine, are often served with desserts, particularly wedding cakes. Champagne and Sparking wine can be served with many types of food but are probably best when served with fish or creamy cheese.

Looking for a fool-proof way to discover great tasting, affordable wines that are easy to find at your local wine shop? Ed Gandia has put together a book that does just that. This is easily the best book I've ever seen on the subject.
